Kenyan Woman Wins Nobel Prize
I am sure every Kenyan blogger is blogging about this and I don’t want to be left out. For the first time since 1901 an African woman, a Kenyan with dreadlocks to be more specific, has won the Nobel Prize.

I’m not Sure how I feel about the whole thing: The award has a patronising air to it since Maathai is known more for environmental causes as opposed to conflict reduction/resolution. The suggestion that world peace presently hangs on environmental salvation is simply contrived. But then again, I could say Hail the African woman like the Norwegians.
Kiriba..only you would say something like that
Good to see you commenting though. I wish you were here to back me up with your pro-African views especially last week when a fellow volunteer tried to convince me that there were benefits to colonisation.
a kenyan WITH dreadlocks? lol I love the hidden emphasis there.
sorry i dissapeared. i havent been around much in my head as well.
Hongera to the sista lakini it was a shame that they had to do her bio on how the Kenyan govt mistreated her etc More of a shame that she might use all that money to plant more trees…dang!
