Just like the Student Rally the Vigil had a 101 hitches but it was a huge success. Over 50 people turned up which was better than last year, so I am told.
Initially our programme was set to last all of 10 minutes due to lack of willing participants but on the night a few students turned up as well as the 4H group and they performed.
The candles were given out for free but we asked for donations and we also sold red ribbons and people were very responsive and generous.
A member of the Belmopan Choral society turned up and she sang the National Anthem beautifully. The Mayor turned up too and he also spoke.
It did not rain which was an even greater blessing!
We were out there for an hour an a half and everyone who attended said they enjoyed themselves.
I have seen some of the photographs that were taken and they are fantastic…and I promise that eventually these pictures shall be available for public viewing.
