To Nick who first mentioned the Kenyan Blog Awards (Kaybees), all those who nominated and voted and to the entire Kenyan Blog Webring family;
I can no other answer make but thanks and thanks and ever thanks
– Twelfth Night, Act 3 Scene 3 (William Shakespeare)
For all those who have won a Kaybee (or two);
Congratulations!
To my fellow KenyaUnlimited and KBW Admin members….let no-one tell you otherwise, you are all amazing people who have worked damn hard to make these awards a success. And remember, good weather is nothing if you don’t share it with others!
Let not the brevity of this post be used as a measure of my gratitude and joy. It really is a blessing to have MamaJunkYard’s named the winner in the Kaybees 2006 Best Design category
Visit the Kaybees home for more info on the awards.

EDIT: Nick, Mutumia, Gish and Farmgal…asanteni for getting in early! I hadn’t even prepared my speech…
The winners of the Kaybee Awards 2006 have been announced.
Along with the thirteen categories, we would like to take this opportunity to announce two special awards. The Founder’s Award which is aimed at the Kenyan Blog Webring (KBW) member the founder recognizes as having given outstanding service to the KBW and KenyaUnlimited (KuL) project and The KBW/KuL Admin Award for Outstanding Member aimed at the KBW member the KBW/KuL admin team recognizes as deserving special mention.
We would like to this opportunity to thank everyone who submitted their nominations and sent in their votes and to congratulate all our winners and nominees.
]]>Open Blog is defined as, “an experimental blog featuring contributions from the members of the Kenyan Blogs Webring.” In other words, anyone who joins KBW can register to be an author of Open Blog. It has been a huge success and those who have posted on Open Blog have written on a range of issues.
The KUL site is a group site belonging to every member of KBW, so this is in many ways a group nomination; so congratulations to all those who have played a part in making KUL what it is.
To any KBW member who is interested in registering as an author on Open Blog please follow this link and register with a name connected to your blog.
]]>A big thank you to everyone who nominated and an even bigger thank you to all those who contributed to MamaJunkYard’s nomination in the following categories:
Trailblazer Award
An award for the most innovative, creative blogger and one who is an inspiration to other bloggers.
Best Design
Restricted to blogs with original or modified templates only
Achievement Award
Restricted to blogs started before 2005
I shall proudly display these buttons in my sidebar in a few minutes and they shall all link to the KayBees page.
The voting stage has begun and is open to all members of the Kenyan Blog Webring. The deadline for all votes is Wednesday the 19th of April 2006 and the results shall be announced on Friday the 21st of April 2006.
I would really urge all KBW members to send their votes in, these are our first ever awards and it is a KBW milestone. It is something that I am incredibly proud to be part of. The success of KBW rests in its membership. Likewise the success of these awards, and future awards lies in all our members coming together to take part.
Finally, it is an honour to see my name next to the names of all the other fantastic nominees. Good luck to each and every one of you.
]]>If you have already nominated, don’t think the fun is over. If anything, it is about to get better and there is still a lot that you can do between now and Monday 10th April 2006 when voting begins.
For example, you can place one of these KayBees buttons on your site to let your readers know about the awards.
