Red Nose Day

Wishing everyone a happy Red Nose Day 2005.

RND 05 is part of Comic Relief’s campaign to make poverty history. While Comic Relief is on-going, RND takes place every two years and is defined as “the unique union of comedy and charity on national television

As the name suggest, there is a red nose involved (think plastic clown nose). This years fun theme is crazy hair, so all the red noses have tufts of crazy hair at the top. The idea being that you not only wear the red nose but you also get yourself some crazy hair.

I haven’t decided whether to buy a Comic Relief red wig (15p of every sale goes to Comic Relief) or Comic Relief red hair spray (can’t remember how much goes to Comic Relief). No matter what I am certain that by the end of the day my hair shall be red!

I already have my red nose, badge and face paint so I am halfway there.

I plan to donate a pound for every person who completed the JunkYard’s Junk quiz with a score over 50%. Not sure how much that amounts to just yet but I shall do a winners table soon.

Whatever you do today do spare a thought for the good work that Comic Relief has done so far and for the millions of people living in poverty all around the world (not just in Africa!) If you can spare some money please visit their site and find out how can make a donation.

At the very least, for those in the UK – do try and watch the special Northerners (England) vs. Southerners (England) University Challenge show on BBC2 at 10pm. As a Southerner living in the North I am not sure who I want to win but I do know Hugh Grant is on the South team and that may just convince me.
