Blowing Kisses in The Wind…

Sun 17th April 2005 MamaJunkYard

I am about to set Adrift on Memory Bliss. I am going back to the year that the US declared silicon breast implants a Hazard. The ‘Teflon don’, Gotti was Finally jailed for life. George Bush Senior thought he was 2 Legit 2 Quit but Bill Clinton told him to Keep on Walkin

Remember the Time yet?

This was the year the Queen dubbed ‘annus horibillis’ and who could blame her? Early on in the year Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson announced they had come to the End of The Road. A few months after pictures of Fergie Humpin Around with her lover were plastered all over the tabloids. Parts of Windsor Castle were destroyed by a fire that started in Mysterious Ways. To top it all Her Majesty was informed that all her Diamonds and Pearls were soon to be deemed taxable.

Do you know what year it is or Do I Have to Say the Words?

To me this year still Smells Like Teen Spirit. I was after all only 13.

The year was 1992 and it probably would have been no more important than any other year in the nineties had it not been for one major event.

13 years ago today on Good Friday April 17th – my baby sister, Mimu was born.

At the moment she is all the way in Kenya and I won’t be seeing her for a long time. I think I have only ever missed 3 or 4 of her birthdays. I have spent the last few days Wishing on a Star that an airline ticket to Kenya would miraculously appear but it hasn’t happened. So I am doing the next best thing, blogging for her.

Mimu,

I love Everything About You and I am Missing You Now May you have a fantastic birthday. You have taught me the Best Things in Life are Free. You are by far The Most Beautiful Girl in The World

Keep on smiling because you know I Love Your Smile

——
The words in bold and italics are all hit songs from the year 1992. Apart from one – can anyone guess which it is? As for the rest of the songs – I would love to see how many can remember who sung them.

    Happy birthday Mimu…**:-)

‘best things in life are free’ was by Luther- jerry curl – van Dross and Mariah; wishing on a star was by a Brit group Afrodisiac or something, and Prince sang ‘#most beurifulll gel in tha waorld#’ in gold-coloured tights.
