I had intended to blog on what I did at work today but it really was not exciting (creating folders and sticking covers on folders…first I have used Pritt Stick since nursery school). I did however have a very good evening – I stayed in and watched Undercover Brother. Not sure what I thought of the film but one quote has been in my mind ever since:
A good day for black people of all races
I shall return to blog at length on that one statement but it is now hometime…
You are kidding cauz we just watched that movie last weekend!!!
I thought it was hilarius. Of course it is one of those movies you have to take of the ‘deep’ hat for and just laugh at the stupidity and odd reality of it.
It sort of mocked alot of the mentalities and stereotypes black people in America have generally. Also one of theose movies you can have a good cultural discussion on cauz it does bring up some interesting themes which are lost in the silliness.
Interested in your analysis or anyone elses.
kaki..certainly agree with you on that deep hat comment…I shall analyse the movie soon. I do have to say when I watched it I saw a lot of me in Conspiracy Brother.
oh and girl thanks a lot for your contributions.
Kakisays
LOL!!!
Me too. Dave Chappelle was so funny in that part. Actually the movie came on again this weekend on TV and cracked me up again!
Esp. the part where the dude who was undercover and was dating white girl was listening to some music and the song came on, the thong song but in another version…it was too much. And the part where the chicks were fighting the it turns into some twisted sexual fantasy ….too much…will be back with more.
Hmmm, Don’t even know what to say about that.
